About Sierra Glass in Hillsboro Oregon

Gene Whittaker purchased Sierra Glass in 1974. Gene has been the driving force in making the company what it is today.

He was a full working owner/manager and when not out bidding and selling jobs he was just as often found in the shop working with Rick, our automotive man, on a custom antique car or out in the field helping our field man, Mike, install windows.

Gene Whittaker is well known in the Hillsboro community and word of mouth rather than large-scale advertising has built our business. Gene retired in September, of 2007, and has handed the business over to his son, Vince Carter.

Gene still plays a major role in supporting Vince and continues to be the foundation that Vince plans to build on. Vince will continue offering the same customer service and high quality workmanship that Gene implemented 34 years ago. Gene made it possible for Vince to enter the business seamlessly by building a staff that Vince will be able to rely on.
